The grapefruit note is genuinely tart, not that sugary fake citrus you get in most candles, and the cassis keeps it from smelling like straight-up juice. For such a small tin it throws scent way better than I expected.
I lit this in my bathroom before a shower and the whole room smelled like fresh-cut grapefruit for hours, not at all artificial. That subtle rose in the background keeps it from being too sharp, and the mini size is perfect for a desk or nightstand.
The tart cassis really cuts through the sweetness, so it doesn’t smell like candy the way a lot of grapefruit candles do. I’ve got it burning on my desk right now and the whole room feels brighter, but the rose keeps it from being too sharp.
